I have an inverter on our westie running off the auxiliary battery by direct wires it is 750W MAX SST 1500W Peak by Vector ... this replaces a 500w that i toasted with an attempt to use the micro-wave bad roger no treat ... anyway we also have a mac book pro with 200Gb Hard drive and 3 Gb RAM ... 17 inch screen both inverters powered the MAcBook Pro Just fine and often while the cell phone was charging ... we also ran dvd's on it at night and there was never any concern generated for equipment or gear... one issue that did arise though was the glare of the screen on the window to the right of the passenger ... this was solved by using a paper bag which operated like a gusset on the lap top ... with htis in place i could see the mirror with out any trouble and ... the bright shiny blue glow did not distract me any further yours
