Subject: 88 Westy stumbles for awhile after startup
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

After a number of car maintenance activities that included recharging the a/c system and putting a quieter fan on the Dometic, everything was fine this morning.

This afternoon when I started it up to come home, the engine started up and sounded normal at idle, but as I pulled out of the parking space, it seemed to miss and generally just have no power at all. This lasted for about 60-90 seconds max and bingo, it all straightened out and ran fine. I stopped 3 times on the way home, leaving the van for just a few minutes each time and each time when I restarted, there was this period of 60-90 seconds where it just would hardly go and then it magically got better (back to normal). By the time I got to my 3 stops, the engine was up to operating temp and didn't cool down much on my stops.

I suspect something to do with the startup logic of the engine computer, but that's as far as I can guess. Do any of the experts out there have any ideas based on what I've told you about?

TIA

John Graham 88 Westy - Charlotte, NC
