Phil Zimmerman has done just that using a stainless deck vent. Screws down to close off when not in use. Phil is on the road right now and I don't have any pictures of his install but maybe he will read this and post a picture?

Another thing to keep in mind is that some of us on this list are lacking one or more of the things needed to do extensive or complex work on our rigs. Needed are a shop/garage area to work, the tools to do the job, and the experience/skill to do the work. If any one of those items is missing projects and mods take on a whole new dimension of problems. Many of the solutions that are suggested by people are simple and straight forward, only basic tools and skills needed. When things get complicated they get complicated fast for some of us.
