Outdoor Research carries a multitude of weird-sized stuff sacks - plain,
padded and even with zippers down the long sides to minimize struggling with
unwieldy gear in tight spaces.

Or, sew your own. I like padded ones for stuff that can bend or rattle, mesh
where I want to see the contents withiut unpacking.


I have a collection of miscellaneous tent poles, lantern stands, hiking
staffs, light stands, tripods and other long skinny things that I take
camping.* For e-z packing, I'd like to slip them all into a nylon stuff
sack -- maybe 6'' diameter, 40'' long. Such sacks usually come with
cheap family-sized WalMart tents, but that seems a wasteful way to go
about getting one. Anyone know of a source for oddly-sized stuff sacks
and duffles?

* A fellow never knows when he'll be called upon to erect a canopy or
something.
