Subject: Help With Inst Cluster Foil
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I have two spare instrument clusters. The foil now on my '87 has really bad traces at the 14 point connector and I want to replace it. My spares are from eBay and I thought they were '86 or later. One has a small electrolytic capacitor next to the voltage stabilizer and one does not. Is that capacitor for the coolant level LED blink on startup?

Bently has the instrument clusters documented from 1985 up and 1986 up and neither section shows the capacitor.

I would like to pick the better looking foil (the one with the capacitor) and use it on my '87Syncro but want to make sure it is OKAY. Somewhere I remember reading that after 198? they are interchangable.

Any words of wisdom on this ???

Thanks Tom Salicos '87 Syncro Westy EG-33
