But it must also be remembered that some of us are lucky enough to be at least partially immune to "the look". Maybe it is courage, maybe personal integrity, or lack of observational skills, or just stupid. Every body, and every situation is different.

And do not discount men, either. My dad taught high school, and was a magistrate, and he had a wicked bad version of "the look". Worked on total strangers, it did. I hope that someday, when I grow up, I too can have something of that power... ;-P>
