Thanks Jake and Dave - I appreciate it.

On further inspection of the photos he sent I noticed the lower grill area (where there shouldn't be a lower grill at all) had the grille missing - and there is the radiator. So he must either have his year mistaken or as Billy Hirt told me - it could be a diesel or a Canadian van.

Either way the Air Cooled questions are all moot because that is clearly a water cooled van in the pictures. I am hoping to see it in person tonight so all will be answered.
