Subject: Re: AC blower switch -- DIY fix?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Casey- you asked,

>> Has anyone broken into the four position AC blower switch to fix intermittent or inoperable speeds? My third position (the most optimal) works sometimes, but will cut out after a spell. Is this something that can be fixed by cleaning corroded contacts, or are they burnt, or what? <<

I had an intermittent problem with #3 and then it went kaput.

Turned out to be a bum relay located on the D pillar behind the Westy cabinet where all the AC guts live on my '89. Sorry I don't have a part number or relay number, only a receipt dated August '99 from Ken Wilford at Van-Again.

One word of caution- there's power to th bigass 50 amp fuse in the back when the ignition switch is off!
