Replaced compressor in 91 Weekender last 6/06 and she's been blowing cold since...until: While driving on the highway in hot eastern Washington last week, my A/C suddenly quit (compressor shut down and the fan would only blow on setting 2). Upon initial inspection of the fuses/relays, I found that the 50 amp fuse (melted little metal bar between the two screws) back behind the cabinet on the 'D' pillar blew as well as fuse #1 under the dash (rad. fan -- related?!) I replaced the fuses AND relays on the 'D' pillar (relays were probably original so replaced for good measure.) So now the fans up by the radiator (those that kick on w/AC and others w/radiator temp sensor) and blowers in the back all work fine but it blows warm, and doesn't feel as if the compressor is kicking on. I've traced all wiring and it all seems fine. Ideas? Thanks! Mr. Brown 91 Orly Weekender 'Gisela' |
