When I drive my Passat I tend to want to follow the traffic. Regardless I want to or not I almost always drive near 80 MPH at 3000 RPM. But when I drive my vanagons I need to remind myself that I should keep a low profile and drive only at 65 MPH, 45 or 50 MPH when climbing hills. That way I made many 600 miles per day trips without problems. I had one 10 day vacation trip that logged 5000 plus miles. David
