The Cruchfield selector is not correct. Or should I say is overly conservative. You want to watch the maximum depth. If you pull your ashtray, you will be able to see the radio and the v-bar it abuts against. (this can be bent for more room) I've been able to fit some of the larger Pinoeer receivers with no problems.
