Hey Jeff You might want to mention which high beams are blowing the fuse. The inners or outers? Are the low beams staying on when switched to highs? Do the fuses blow if the bulbs are removed? Did we have too many beers during this project? Can't be that hard to track down. Better come on over. Cold beer in my fridge. Maybe we can find something else to short out ;-o Keith O Date: Mon, 9 Jul 2007 09:13:02 -0700 From: Jeffrey Vickers <jeff@VICKERSDESIGN.COM> Subject: High beam short? So I'm driving home the other night and I throw on the high beams and 20 seconds later, they go out. I switch back to low beams and the low beams are still working---get home and both 10 amp high beam fuses are blown. I have euro codes with higher watt bulbs (with new grounds and relays) as well as 100 watt high beams so I tried 20 amp fuses. Now my right hand high beam works fine but the left is blowing the fuse. Both low beams OK. No apparent shorts, but I haven't dug out the relays. Any thought? Jeff / 87 Syncro Westy |
