Look toward the sliding door openers on some of those Chrysler inventions, their minivan (LOL!). They have a nice long travel, and should be suitably strong, for opening a pop-top. With a remote, no less... And that makes another question arise. What mechanism do they use to CLOSE the rear hatch automajically?
