The stainless braid is good for protecting the rubber hose from mechanical damage and the fire sleeve will protect the hose from flames, but both will prevent you from inspecting the integrity of the hose itself.

Great stuff for race cars which won't be using the same lines 10 years from now but perhaps not so appropriate for a long-term installation.
