Greetings to one and all.

So I finally had a modest block of time today to really tear into
Blue Midget, which suffered a major engine fire in November of '06,
and has largely sat sad and neglected since then, save being able to
pull most of the fire damaged parts off.

My plan is to completely redo the fuel lines, because, of course,
that is what caused the fire (I am pretty sure it was near the cold
start valve).  So I have slowly been pulling the old lines off (those
clamps right on the injectors themselves are a $%@#$) and then
replacing them with segments of new fuel injection rated line.  I
have most of the main fuel ring redone now and have tested the
injectors for resistance per Bentley.  But as I began to work my way
back, I was utterly surprised to find that between the fuel pump and
the passenger side of the fuel ring, as well as from the fuel
pressure regulator back to the tank, instead of the metal lines I was
expecting, I found these plastic things.

So - to the point - how stable are these?  They seem completely
intact, firm and stable, with no weak spots I can feel, but are these
lines likely to need replacing, too, or is the plastic sturdy enough
to hold up?  Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I am hoping to have Blue running again before mid August (probably
naive) but we'll see what sorts of things I forgot to consider during
the rebuilding schedule.

Oh - BTW - Blue Midget is a 1980 Vanagon Westy.
