I don't take anything over email personally, so no worries Jake...

The numbers are a percentage representing probability of failure. So lower is better, here's what their callout details:

"Here we have listed some of the parts that go to make up the figures we have produced and the probability of failure: Cylinder head, internal bushings, oil pump, crankshaft and bearings, tappet gear, valves & guides, pistons & rings, cylinder bores/liners, con rods, distributor drive, starter ring gear, flywheel, autodrive plate, camshaft drive belts, camshaft & cam followers, cylinder head gasket, cylinder block, crankshaft pulley, turbo/intercooler units, inlet & exhaust manifold, rear main seal, rocker assembly, push rods, timing gears, timing belts & chains. The higher the percentage, the greater the risk of failure. "

So with a "legacy engine" which is going to be one of several, you'll have a 24% chance of having a problem with something in the above list.. and a 7.69% of having a problem from the above list with the "escort engine" which is also one of several engines. I wish they got even more specific than that because the zetec shares that vehicle with the Ford north america SPI engine which is garbage and I suspect throws the curve up to the 7.69%

Then lookup honda accord or toyota corolla... so low they don't even have a number value, impressive.
