Once we got our Weekender in the fall of 05, we sold our 92 Subaru (always disappointed with the mileage; it's the dang 4WD) and bought a used 95 Honda Civic. ~32 city and 38-40 highway. The VW gets to fill our station wagon/truck/hauling dogs to the vet needs.
