Sounds like a good trip Monte.

We ended up in the Sinkyone Wilderness Area on a trip down from Vancouver a few years ago. We spent an evening talking with a father & son who were net fishing off the beach. He was the grader operator on the road and his dad had been in the local woods before him. He told us stories of the clipper ships coming to the 200 foot pier that ran out from the creek at Sinkyone to load the redwood logs taken off the sirrounding hills. Kinda sad, really.

We collected some seeds from the cool tree lupins growing on the hillside there.
