Subject: Braided SS fuel hose..
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252"

I finished the replacement of all my old fuel lines yesterday. After my close call a week or so back, when the old line rubbed through and allowed about 1/2 tank of gas to squirt out right in front of my exhaust headers while driving.. So, during the replacement with good new reinforced rubber line, I also re-routed it to fix some of the iffy routing done by whoever converted my van to an Inline 4 VW motor. I found some extra leftover Stainless braided fuel hose from my racecar days..#10 size, I think. It's inside diameter was a fit over the new replacement rubber hose, so in the sections where there was any possibility of rubbing and also where I used zip-ties to anchor the fuel line, I slipped some lengths of the SS braided hose right over the working fuel line. Made for a neat install and rather durable. Pegassus Racing, Summit, any of the racing parts houses will have that stuff. Don Hanson PS...The old fuel line? Wow! If you ran it through your hands, your fingers would smell like raw gas. It was damp on the outside. After a few hours of lying there in my shop, I picked it back up and little crumblies of dry, degraded rubber poured out the ends...Scary stuff..
