83.5 wbx, New ignition system, (yes I have spark), fires when I inject fuel into intake plenum. Does not fire otherwise. I have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator (had a spare so why not), cleaned the injectors, checked the injector clips with a noid (yes good pulses on all four) and I'm thinking that the pump is defective in it's pressure output. ( As in not enough pressure to squirt fuel under compression) The pump runs for 3 seconds when the ignition is turned on but with either an injector bar hose disconnected or the pressure release bolt removed I get no squirting fuel back at the engine . Should this "open system" squirt fuel out of either or both of these openings? Is my thinking logical? How (sequence) should I check the fuel pump function. ( I don't have a pressure gauge though could acquire one if necessary. TIA Don ( the frustrated one) |
