> Please, if you don't have an extinguisher in the van, get one! > If you do, how old is it? Would you trust your life to it? > Would it take up that much space to have a second one handy in the > van? > We all hope for the best, but try to be prepared for the worst. ... and just a note to remind folks that you usually have a very good resource for info about fire extinguishers in your very own little town: your local fire department. even if it's a volunteer department, i'd betcha they know more about extinguishers than you do. :) so why not ASK what they recommend? mine told me to get halon, if i could find it, and it is still available. they said those purple powdery thingies didn't really do much but just kinda make the fire angry. ;) what i'd really LIKE to have is the old CO2 jobs of the 60's. but for whatever reason, they're not available anymore. maybe they freeze the plastic engines and crack things or something. just a thought. good luck! joel |
