Dennis
Thanks for the reply. A little history on my problem:
The vehicle ran last fall when I parked it - November - Though it
had a tendency to stall at idle as in at a red light and not restart
until it had a ten minute rest in hot weather (+28 C and above)
When I tried to start it in April it would crank but not fire.
I tested for spark at the plugs- good ( entire ignition is new
except distributor. new cap, HT leads, plugs, coil)
Grounds had been cleaned the previous summer and were re-cleaned
I removed the small hose connected to the intake and squirted some
fuel in. It fired immediately, ran for a couple of seconds and
died. No fuel being delivered?
I went on vacation for May
I pulled the injector leads and noid tested them. All fine
I pulled the injectors and while one fuel rail was disconnected ran
the fuel pump by turning the key to the on position several times. No
fuel in my collection container.
I also removed the bolt at the Tee fitting and ran the pump as
above . No fuel. I had expected a geyser.
The fuel flow test described in the workshop manual (original)
suggests that 500 ml of fuel should be collected in 30 seconds from
the return spigot of the pressure regulator. I got 25 to 40 ml.
I will try the volume test again at the firewall fitting and at the
supply side of the tee.
Any insights to offer?
Thanks
Don
