I see this all the time as well. It is $ thing I think. People see less than $1 a foot versus $3.50 a foot and go for the cheaper stuff not knowing the differences. I have used braided stainless without issues also.

Honestly I see this all the time. That's why I don't believe in replacing the fuel line. You get people doing things like this, all over the place. Most people do more damage than good..
