I'll echo Todd's sentiments here.

I work in aviation, and refillable Halon 1211(like the type Todd mentions here) and also disposable dual Halon 1211/1301 are the only thing we use aboard our aircraft for that very reason.

They are, however, subject to routine inspection requirements, and in the case of the 344 or 352 extinguishers, also a 6-year internal and 12-year hydrostatic test. The RTA600/1200 extinguishers are lightweight, maintenance free, and thrown away after 12 years.
