tillgrepp is swedish police slang for 'theft'. like breaking-and-entering type theft. comes from the old old swedish "grepp de till" or loosely translated into english "grab the till" or "grab the money out of the cash register", cept they didn't have cash registers back then, and the merchant carried his 'till' (sack of money) on a rope around his waist. from which the nickhame "ol' moneybags" was derived. and since the vikings came down through sweden and denmark to england, lots of their quaint expressions made it into the english language. ;)
