I know that place. You pass close by it if you're coming in from Allentown to the Holland tunnel. It was about $80 a night, and that was several years ago. But it's the only place close by.

You can keep your westy pretty reasonable at the park place under the George Washington bridge, comparatively speaking, but you won't be able to stay in it. I don't think there is a place you could stay under any circumstances anywhere in Manhattan, don't know about elsewhere. If you found a place to park in the village, say near washington square/NYU campus, you could probably stealth camp if you didn't pop the top, stayed quiet and didn't burn any lights. If the cops found you, you'd have a long way to drive to get some sleep!
