Imagine my surprise.  I'd worked a little late,
stopped at a nearby pub for a departing co-worker's
sendoff and had completed most of the drive home when
suddenly it felt like my foot had slipped off the gas
pedal.


No, it wasn't that.  No springing back of the pedal
and nothing but constant 1000 RPM available from the
engine room.  Put it in low and idled the last two
blocks home. Reckon I'll get after it tomorrow and I'm
curious as to what I'll find.  Do these things pop
loose and let you easily reposition them, or do they
simply  break and require replacement parts?  Guess
I'm about to find out.


Glad it didn't happen two minutes sooner while I was
still on the interstate.
