I think the 70s Airstream motor homes--the one with the engine and not a trailer - were built on that GMC platform with the front wheel drive and all.

Am I wrong about that, as usual?

To me that's the ultimate motor home: aluminum like the Airstream trialer. Sweet.

But what do I know.
