Subject: Shifter bracket/relay lever 82 Vanagon Diesel
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hello..

Looking for a shifter bracket -- the part that attaches the shifter linkage to the shaft on the transmission. 82 Vanagon Diesel. I think the part number is 251 711 219 and is the same as on the gas vanagon 80-85? Could be wrong, but...?

A photo of the part is here in case my description is too vague.

Called a "relay lever" in the Bentley, though I've never heard anyone call it that.

Anyone have one of these around? If not, already working on a way to get this one to be functional...

Did a quick fix that has lasted a day so far involving putting wire in with the spline as filler, but I think it is slipping a little, so will try a fix that a diesel listmember suggested that involves a hammer... Where's the duct tape solution? :-)

Thanks, -Neil
