That seems to be the problem. There needs to be gas in the fuel line and
in the pump initially for the pump to work. In other words the pump needs
to be primed before it will pump. You need to suck the fuel line to get
fuel first before connecting it back to the pump. Be careful if you suck by
Mouth.
