If I can conjure this up, some clever entrepreneur has figured out how to suck more cash out of the VW Camping Crazies by running a gummint approved database business that charges NINE DOLLARS to type in an entry into a data base. Clever AND since it's the only game in town it's a gummint sponsored monopoly. I hate it when they do that. Not likely this stuff will go away easily. So to camp in a FEE'd campsite in the Parks you have to pay not only the campsite fee but a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee. For Jellystone it's 25$ to get in, 16$ for the first night and 9$ skimmed off your wallet to some clever outfit. Hmmm, that's $50 for the first night, no HBO, no wifi, no free Coffee, no clean as a whistle shower no fresh towels, french milled soap...Makes Motel 6 look pretty good, discounting the location of course. But then it wouldn't be camping in the 'wilderness'. |
