What is more likely to happen is that the
rain/condensation will pool in the center and cause it
to droop. Unless the tarp is extremely ("bounce a
quarter") taut or unless you have upwardly-bowed X
pieces under the tarp you will experience this. See
the Bus Depot awning for the X thing.
Our Hummer awning from Sierra Trading Post droops with
heavy moisture and I can't keep it taut enough to
prevent this. An occasional and minor annoyance.
