That's quite a common occurrence and I think it's a warning to not drive the van with the fridge running on propane. You should use the battery setting when driving. The consensus from this list seems to be that driving with the propane valve open could be a really dangerous thing if the van were in an accident. I used to use propane when I drove but now I use the battery or nothing at all if the trip < 3 hours.
