RE: Starting Battery Should Be In Good shape HVA wrote: One thing that I discovered with my Smart Relay is that the starting battery needs to be in good shape to deliver enough voltage to trip the relay and charge the aux battery.

And I think I'm encountering just this problem right now. Although my starting battery is only about six months old it has been hammerd good once (lights on for a couple of days) and angain a couple of weeks ago. On this last trip I was suprised to see the aux battery at only just a little above 12v after a 130 mile drive. And I checked it yeaterday after about 80 miles of driving, aux only at 11.2. So project for this week is to do some wire tracing (tho make sure the Surepower seperator is installed right) and take some voltage readings at both batteries with the engine running.
