That would be my clunk, right?  I'm going to look at the grounds and
connections at the starter tomorrow (as well as doing the other
suggestions).  Inside at the battery, everything looks clean as a
whistle.  The clunk was what worried me the most in that "oh my gosh,
that sounded like an expensive noise" kind of way.

btw, its an automatic.
