Later models just have carpet mats that don't go under the cabinets at all, and can be pulled right out. This is a much better arrangement, as you can simply remove it and hose it down when you spill grease on the carpet when cooking. (Ask me how I know. :-) No reason why you couldn't use this on an earlier Westy. If you could cut the old carpet cleanly at the edge of the cabinet and sofabed, you could put a carpet mat (which we sell) in its place.

I have a carpet mat and a rubber mat (which we also sell). I use the rubber mat whenever I haul something in my Westy, to protect my carpet from damage or stains. (I often just put it on top of my carpet mat when needed, and store it under the carpet mat when not needed, but I could just as easily replace one with the other.)
