Nice, after reading the chain of events, and the sick mechanics etc, the story is great...

Glad you're set there and no drill-in-headedness anymore... the last time I had a broken stud on a friend's mazda it was either 4 hours to pull the turbo and manifold to get room, or extract the broken off stud with 3 inches of clearance in front. I vise-gripped a bolt to my TIG torch, and actually welded the bolt to the end of the stud recessed in the head. This had a two-fold benefit, it gave us a bolt head to spin with, and it heated the stuck stud.. of course you CAN'T do this if you have a bolt stuck in cast iron... worked like a charm though amazingly enough.

The drilling the drill bit story also remind me of another good story I have no idea if it's true but I love it every time I remember it. There was apparently some company that released and claimed credit for the smallest drill bit in the world, something on the scale of human hair. Soon afterward they got a package from their chief competitor that had nothing but one of their tiny drill bits in it. On closer inspection they found the reason why they had gotten the package. Their smallest drill in the world had a hole drilled through it.
