Too large to fit most vehicles, my favorite variant of this theme was spotted on the shop wall of one of my bicycle dealers many years ago. One of the mechanics had taken a bare bicycle rim, cut it through on one side to break the "hoop" then cracked halfway through on the opposite side and folded to make a large fish outline.

This was mounted on the wall with two freewheel cogs beneath it where the feet would be on the Darwin fish, and a cardboard cutout was fitted to the opening with "Merckx" written on it. Very expressive, I thought.

Stephen
