              other than mine. Why?

I paid $405 for it on Ebay. The seller had a 67 percent satisfaction rating.Wouldnt answer any question. Used cars can do that to you, ya know.I supposed that knowing how VW put cars together,I knew the weak points to rule out any particular car. Saw a clean engine cpmpartment, nice paint, nice interior, good tires,no competition,113K, high gas prices. Rear window was bashed out. Ice cold A/C 5 speed.

Before I started it ,I replaced the timinmg belt.Couldnt figure out how to start it.Hot wired it. Varoooommmmmmmmmmm needed a complete exhaust. The Vanagon 1.9 catalytic convertior is the same as on the Fox-had one. Exhaust system , complete, from the junkyard-$21- almost new - still had paper labels on the muffler. Tires almost new.Needed a CV boot. Went for a rebuilt axel- $79. A/C worked, but needed a can or r-12- had it.

Havnt cracked the 30mpg mark yet.Got 29.7 once. Hwy mileage isnt that different from city. Good car.I will run it into the ground. May take awhile.
