You could be right, but I thought it was the other way around, that the early ones had this glitch, and they fixed it on later ones. I put a resistor in place of the level sensor... ( when I need to for troubleshooting )

This keeps that part of the circuit happy, and then we're back to a 'normal' temp gauge system......needle points, and LED goes off only if temp gets too high.

Faulty gauge circuit in the dash is a possibility too, or gauge, but you wouldn't normally expect that. Scott

The temp gauge on later models I ebelieve is designed to go to the top if the low coolant sensor is tripped. Check the connections on the pressure tank or if the coolant level in the tank is more than a couple inches low.
