Subject:      VW FOX - Been driving one since Feb. but have not seen one other
              than mine. Why?

The Fox was made from 1987 to 1993. Mine is a 93. Lots of 93 cars still on the road. Especially Hondas and Nissans,ect. Why havent I seen another car like mine( any color or year) ? This is lonlier than owning a Vanagon. I do see Vanagons once in a while. not one Fox. Good car.
  I once saw a Fox for sale near by. A curb stoner of some kind.Said he could not get the engine to turn over .Apparently he had bought it at  charity auction and didnt know the cars history,ect. Lights , exc would come on, but no cranking. Timing belt intact. About 50K miles , and looked it. Maybe less miles.dont remember.Not more than 50k. On ebay for $200. Dont need another VW. so I passed it up. Owning a Fox, I could have told him that the shoulder seat belt needed to be clicked to start the car.  One of the pictures in the sale showed that the lap belt had been buckled. Most( including myself ) would have thought that this was enough to get ignition.

  Do you suppose that most VW Foxes went to the junkyard prematurely? I mean people ,ect didnt know to buckle  the shoulder belt? Just wondering why I never see another Fox.Rust?
