There's a pretty thorough discussion of coolants at westfalia.org, if you should find yourself troubled by insomnia some night.

Don't ask what engine oil is best around here or you may start a Dreaded Oil Thread. Many like Mobil 1 15-50. Use a Mann filter and fill it to around 1/2 the way between the marks on the dipstick.

Congratulation on your new purchase--sounds like a nice one.

By the way--have your mechanic check and/or replace the fuel lines, esp. in the engine compartment. It's not a high cost item and is well worth it for the peace of mind.
