Subject: Canadians shortchanged on insulation in T4 Westy?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Yesterday we had a sweltering 30C here in Edmonton. Luckily today it is a bit more moderate. While sweating and working on my '94 Westy battery upgrade I noticed there appeared to be no fiberglass or other thermal insulation behind the battery compartment. Here in Edmonton winter will come sooner than you expect, so I continued checking.

I looked behind the water tank (on the opposite side) and found no insulation there either. Likewise no sign of it looking though holes in the kitchen cabinet and behind the drivers seat. This is an original Canadian market T4 full camper Westy. By contrast the German market T4 Westy's got 30mm of fibreglass wall insulation.

So while VW and Westfaila has their strange ways (For the T3's I picked up one with a D6 heater in sold in Florida, but my originally Pennsylvania sold camper had none...), it seems unusually cruel and stingy to shortchange Canadians on insulation!

Has anyone else checked their T4 campers for insulation? How about the multivans?
