You'd probably be happier with a dedicated GPS. I did a of research before
settling on the Garmin C340 which calls out street names instead of, "turn
right in 100 feet." I also recommend buying from an on-line retailer to save
additional dollars. Two which I have used with good results are:

For starters, it would only work where there is cell coverage, which
excludes most of my province.
