Heh -- asking NASCAR fans if they mind the noise of internal combustion
engines is like asking ducks if they mind a little rain.
Snarkiness aside, it's all a matter of context. All I can do is hope
that I don't camp anywhere near someone with a generator that is so
quiet that you can't hear it at all once the doors and windows are
closed and the AC and TV are on!
Reminds me of Elwood's Chicago apartment in The Blues Brothers with the
elevated trains pounding past. Every time we see the apartment a
crashingly noisy train goes past. Something like, "Do those trains come
by often?" "They go by so often you don't notice it."
