Amazing! I just spent about 2 hours researching portable
refrigerator-freezers, and all of a sudden this thread appears! This is the
first I've heard about the Dometic RC4000. I like its physical design much
better. Nothing seems to stick out, and there may be a way to stabilize the
unit by securing the handle onto the back of the passenger seat. Wheels,
and 3-way AC/DC/propane are other major plusses, not to mention the price.
I'm still very amps/volts/challenged, so how long would that fridge run on
an auxiliary battery while the van is parked? Even though my auxiliary
battery has never been "reworked" to handle the lights, radio, etc, it DOES
have its own cigarette plug. Is the Dometic RC4000 a
"refrigerator-freezer," like the Norcold and the Engel?
Besides using it for picnics and camping, I'd really like to be able to just
pick up a few groceries without the need to rush home with the perishables.
Thanks!
Patti
