Very snazzy. I wonder how one would attach it to the rain gutters? I have an old cotton canvas orange awning and poles that used to have a rubber strip down one end that was molded to grip the rain gutter. This awning came over form Europe and was used on our '74 VW westfalia there. My folks sold the van when we moved back to the states, but kept the awning. Unfortunately, some time ago my father cut the rubber strip so it could attach more easily to something else. When I got my van I took the awning, but have yet to find a replacement rubber strip or some other method of securely fastening it to the gutters. (awning) Has anybody used one of these? http://www.rei.com/product/732929 It looks like it's made to work with a roof rack, but from the photos it would probably be easy to fabricate gutter brackets to use with it. What I really like about it is that it has the sides that roll down.
Anybody ever tried something like this? -Wes '83 1.9l westy '84 1.9l gl |
