Hi, the point of this thread is to collect data on 2wd front suspension parts. Rims, shocks, springs. Here it goes: Rims: Type - diameter - width - ET - weight - w/2+ET - note stock steel - 14 - 5.5 - 35 - ? - 104.9 mm - very narrow stock alloy - 14 - 6 - 30 - ? - 106.2 mm SA steel - 15 - 6 - 30 - 23 lb - 106.2 mm SA stock alloy - 15 - ? - ? - 19 lb - ? 8 Hole Euro style - 15 - 7 - 23 - ? - 111.9 mm Rhein Alloy - 15 - 6.5 - 30 - 23 lb - 112.6 mm Rondell - 15 - 7 - 25 - ? - 113.9 mm Golf modified - 15 - 6 - 47 - ? - 123.2 mm - wrong offset Lift Springs: Type - spring constant - length - note vanagon.com - ? - ? SmallCar - ? - ? Go Westy - ? - ? - progressive? not sure if available for 2wd 85 stock - ? - ? - rides at 18.5" unloaded Westy ? Springs comment: Ride height is not that useful really, because its hard to compare without knowing weight on front axle. Would be nice to know the actual spring specs, but I could find nothing at all. All vendors claim to have designed the springs so they must know the specs, no? Shocks: There are a range of different shocks for the front of the 2wd Westy. Again I can't find any specs whatsoever, not even length. All I read are: "these are great, these suck" "These are too hard, these are too soft" and so on. Where is the beef?
