Has anyone installed one of these..... Atwood propane furnace http://www.atwoodmobile.com/Products/furnace/7900.cfm A new version, the 8012 only draws 1.8amps. $400 with free shipping http://www.ducktec.com/hydroflame-furnace.htm I have a the older 7900 verssion I bought a couple of years ago, but haven't gotten around to installing it. Thinking of installing it into the small compartment between the fridge and the circuit breaker. It requires 20.5" of straight depth from outside wall of the van to interior cabinet face....probably a bit more than to the front of the cabinet face...so guessed I'll have to make a little frame around. Also thinking of replacing that ugly front grate with something more attractive....or at least paint it grey to match the cabinets. I'm wondering if it would hurt anything to shorten the flu exiting the back just a bit...sure Atwood would advise "No"...but ???? Atwood says it has to be installed perpendicular to the van side wall...can't install under the seat, for example, and turn the vent 90 dergrees to exit. Looking for install tips if someone has already "been there..done that". Warren C. |
