Rarely will the cap seal actually cause a leak. Look carefully. If there is any rust at all on the cap, most likely it is rusted through and leaking through pin holes.

We've owned our '91 for only around 2 months. A week or so after bringing it home, noticed leak spots on the ground. A few forays underneath indicate that the majority of the leak is coming form the Governor cap/seal area.

Is it as easy as I think it is to replace the seal? Pop the wire bale off, remove cap, clean area, replace old o-ring?

I plan to drain the fluid and replace the filter and pan gasket as well.

Is there anything else I should consider doing at this time/ Things to watch out for?

Thank you, Ron Johnson Portland, OR '91 Weekender - Betsy
